1984 Austin Mini - Almond Green, 998cc

£££ SOLD £££

Up for sale is this near-immaculate 998cc Mini. It's got MOT until the end of March 2015, and tax until the end of the month. The car has been subject to a full restoration over the past 18 months or so ago, with thousands of pounds of receipts from Minisport. Showing 58,000 miles on the clock. You can see that the engine bay is immaculately clean, as is the rest of the car, really! All the seams etc are excellent, as you will see in the pictures, and there are no signs of filler whatsoever. It's priced to sell and you'd do better to find a car that's as good for this sort of money.

The car runs and drives superbly and you can feel that it's not just been thrown together. It was rebuilt by an experienced Mini restorer, and you can certainly tell this. It's as nice as it looks in the pictures - if not better!

Bodily, the car has had new inner and outer sills, front floors, boot floor, rear valance and full front end. It's been fitted with halogen headlights for improved lighting, too! The car has been painted in 2-pack almond green, and as you can see, the car shines very well indeed, and there's plenty of paint on there!

Mechanically, the car is fitted with a 998cc engine which has been fitted with a Stage One kit, new silicone bypass hose, fan belt, plugs points and dizzy. It starts readily and pulls very well indeed for a little 998. An immobiliser is fitted to the car.

The car has had fully rebuilt rear brakes, with new  back plates, cylinders, springs, shoes, adjusters, and drums; new mintex pads on the front. Oh, and a new handbrake cable too.

The wheels are 12" Revolutions, painted in black (one has had a pinstripe painted on but this can be easily removed!). The car has standard wheelarches, and as you can see, it sits very well indeed. The steering is light and the handling is absolutely fantastic. New shock absorbers have been fitted.

The interior is very tidy, having had new carpets and a new set of door cards, which look great. The car has classic-style bucket seats in the front, and the rear has been carpeted out. If you wanted, you could easily refit a rear seat - these are readily available for just a few quid.

The car looks, sounds and drives absolutely superbly. It's an ideal first classic, and insurance and tax is very cheap indeed. Obviously, as with any old car, there are a few little bits and bobs to do, but nothing that's really worth noting here! It's just a nice example with space to make it your own
