This desirable Round Wheelarch (RWA) Midget is ready to go! If the car doesn’t sell in the next week or two we plan to have all of the cosmetics sorted out – but then we’ll be looking for £7000! So, grab a bargain while you still can.

The previous owner was an MGOC Member and had owned the car for the past 12 years. He was only selling as he’d retired and was going to buy a Morgan to replace it!

The car is MOTd until March 24th 2016 and I can’t see there being any problems at all for the next MOT.

The car starts, runs and drives very well indeed. There are receipts dating back to the 1990s where the gearbox was replaced (and hasn’t done a great deal of mileage!). The engine has excellent oil pressure and does not overheat. There are no nasty clunks from the transmission and no whine from the differential. The car is fitted with lots of nice additions, such as a stainless steel exhaust.

The interior is very clean and tidy, having been fitted with new leather seat covers, new door cards and new carpets. Bodily, the car appears to be pretty solid but the car would benefit from a respray. It could quite happily be used as it is – as you can see, it looks fairly respectable. There are marks and scratches around and about the car so please do not come expecting a show car. If you wanted perfection you would probably have to budget for a respray – but there would be very little prep to do before painting, and would make the car worth a great deal more.

Structurally, the car appears to be nice and solid – the floors, sills and spring hangers all look good. I can’t see there being any welding issues for a good few years to come.

The hood is a nice fit, and a hood cover is included. The windscreen has a crack on the driver’s side but the previous owner tells me that this has been there for 10 years and hasn’t got any worse. It’s not in the MOT-fail zone so isn’t too much of an issue, really.

All in all, this is a great opportunity for someone who wants a well-sorted car that can be used regularly without any worries. Don’t let the slight cosmetic issues put you off. If it doesn’t sell at this price I will have the car resprayed and I will be asking considerably more. It’s not the usual tarted-up piece of junk.
