1972 MG Midget - Damask Red
£££ SOLD £££
This clubman-racer style Midget is an original chrome-bumper car. It has recently had a brand new bonnet and a pair of wings fitted - well over £1000-worth of panels!
It does have MOT until the end of July 2015, and is taxed for 12 months, but I am selling this car as a rolling restoration project. It starts, runs and drives, but at this price, it's clearly not a perfect show-car! However it could be quite easily made into a fun, usable sports car. These Midgets are great fun to drive, there are very few cars that are more fun on a twisty country road.
The previous owner said the he'd been on an 80 mile drive before I collected it - I don't doubt that. The brakes work very well indeed. It's had a home-respray which isn't the best, but it does shine up fairly well. See the pictures and make a judgement for yourself. The main issue is that the clutch slips when under heavy load. I haven't had chance to have a proper look, but on first inspection, it appears that the car has been fitted with clutch pipe etc from a 1500 car, so this is most likely to be the issue! All in all, this car is sold as seen and sold as a rolling restoration project.
