This example is MOT’d until May 2015 and has plenty of tax left on it (free anyway!).

The Moggy has had some subtle but useful upgrades, to allow it to keep up with today’s traffic. These mods include:

  • 1275cc engine conversion, with unleaded cylinder head

  • Disc Brakes

  • Anti-roll bar

  • Brake servo

  • Alternator

  • Telescopic shock absorbers

  • Stainless steel box

  • Morris Marina gearbox and Sierra back axle

  • Leather front seats from Newton Commercial – these aren’t cheap!

There are a good amount of bills and receipts with the car, along with various workshop manuals to help you along your way.

Bodily, the car is very solid indeed – as you can see from the pictures. The close up pics are just to show you the panels in more detail – not highlighting any particular grot spots! The door bottoms are all in good shape, as is the bottom of the boot lid, and all 4 wings appear to be good, too. The car hasn’t been painted for a few years, so there is the odd stone-chip here and there, so please don’t come expecting a show car.  However, the paint shines up very well, as you can see.

The car runs and drives well – don’t expect it to be a rocket machine, but with the Marina gearbox and Sierra back axle, it means it cruises very nicely indeed. The brakes are fantastic for one of these, and the engine ticks over smoothly.

The interior is in excellent order, too – the car has had replacement leather seats. The headlining is in very good order, and several auxiliary gauges have been fitted. A battery cutout is also fitted.

This is a bargain price for a fantastic car which attracts a great deal of attention wherever it goes. Obviously it’s not a concourse car but it’s very nice, and won’t be requiring any significant works for a good while. It’s now a very usable, enjoyable car capable of use on A roads in traffic, etc. The car starts on the button every time, even having been left for a few weeks.
