Early Sprites and Midgets are very highly regarded in classic car circles – they are seen to be one of the most fun, enjoyable small British Sports Cars available. This car is no exception – it is without doubt one of the nicest cars available on the market for this price.
The previous owner spent a lot of time and money getting this car just right. It’s ready to drive away and runs very nicely indeed. MOT until 10th May 2016 and I can’t see there being any issues at MOT time.
The lines of the car are completely unspoilt – early cars are much more attractive, in my eyes. it’s a true British Sports Car! The paintwork has been professionally done, having had a full respray with repair panels fitted where required. There is NO ROT whatsoever. The brightwork is all in good order with no dinks or twists – I don’t think these are new items, but are refurbished originals.
The floors, sills, spring hangers etc all look to be in very solid order. There are no nasty patches of welding, which shows that this car has been restored properly.
The original seats look fantastic, and the carpets are in good order. Dashboard and steering wheel also in good order, with all switches etc working as they should.
Engine and Gearbox
Engine starts readily and runs well, ticking over at around 750rpm, as it should. Exhaust note is lovely and the car pulls and drives exactly as it should. Oil pressure is as it should be, and the car does not overheat.
Brakes and Suspension
Car stops in a straight line and rides very nicely indeed. No nasty clunks and rattles like so many of these cars have!
Comes complete with good cover, in good condition, along with soft-top and frame, both of which are in good order. There is a slight tear which you will be able to see in the pictures, but it doesn’t appear to leak at all.
All in all, this is an absolutely stunning little car that is absolutely ready to be used and enjoyed. Obviously it’s not a concourse condition show-car, but you won’t find many cars like this, that have had a restoration to a good standard, with no corners cut.
