1971 MGB Roadster - Heritage Body

£12750

If you’re looking for a REALLY well-sorted, Heritage Shell MGB Roadster, then look no further. This car represents everything that a well restored MGB should – fantastic bodywork and structure, excellent roadholding and sensible upgrades that do not detract from the classic feel of the car. It’s a great investment and prices of these chrome bumper roadsters are definitely on the rise. I challenge you to find a nicer car for less money! It’s a bargain.

The car was restored a number of years ago, professionally, using a brand new Heritage bodyshell. The majority of components were replaced with new items. The car has covered 20,000 dry miles since the rebuild and the quality of restoration is highlighted by the fact that the car is still in A1 condition. The panel fit is excellent, the paint finish is magnificent and there is no bubbling anywhere. The underside, as you can see in the pictures, is very nicely finished too.

The car drives absolutely beautifully and is incredibly taught and responsive. I can honestly say that it’s the nicest-driving MGB roadster I’ve ever had the pleasure to use. So much so, that I’ve just completed a 200-mile tour of the Lake District in it! I’d quite happily tour the continent in it. There is no slop in the drivetrain or through the wire wheel hubs etc – it’s a joy to drive. The stainless exhaust makes the car sound fantastic, but not stupidly loud.

I have the majority of history from the rebuild which includes receipts for most parts (including the shell), and old MOTs etc. Rather than waffling on, here is a list to outline the car’s spec.

· Replacement heritage bodyshell with new doors, bonnet and boot lid
· 5 chrome wire wheels and tyres which have done less than 3000 miles.
· Most exterior trim has been replaced and looks fantastic. New windscreen
· MGOC perforated leather seats (over £1000 new) with recon dash, instruments and switches. Moto-lita wheel
· 1950cc engine built by MG specialist Mike Satur, with stage 2 unleaded head and Kent cam – ticks over beautifully and pulls like a train.
· Rebuilt gearbox, overdrive and rear axle
· Aldon distributor and electronic ignition
· Stainless exhaust
· Front and rear handling kit with Spax adjustable shocks all round
· Kenlowe Fan
· Copper brake pipes with silicone fluid
· Hood in excellent order

I cannot stress how nice this car is in every single way – I can guarantee that any viewer will not be disappointed. Long MOT and the car is, of course, tax exempt. A new, bare, unpainted bodyshell is now £8500+VAT, so this represents a fantastic bargain. To build a car the same as this would require at least £15-20k.
